The recent Milan Fashion Week was the stage chosen by Chilean designer María Pía Cornejo to present the first collection of her new brand, LIVERTA.

At the beginning of this year, the Chilean designer received an invitation from the Fashion Vibes organization, “which is in charge of presenting and promoting emerging designers during Milan Fashion Week,” said the designer from the city of Talca.

This is not the first time that this Chilean designer has been invited to present her collections abroad. Previously, she had the opportunity to exhibit her work in Vancouver and New York. However, Milan was the stage chosen to present her new brand, LIVERTA.

Although Cornejo has been working with her eponymous brand for 7 years, for 2023 she decided to create LIVERTA, a brand “inspired by an imaginary woman, an empowered woman who comes to deliver a message of freedom to humanity,” she tells us.

For the occasion, María Pía Cornejo presented a total of 14 outfits for the spring/summer 2024 season focused on sustainability. “We are rescuing garments that have been left off the market and making new garments from discarded pieces,” she said.

As for the choice of fabrics, Cornejo leaned towards the use of cotton and linen, with which she explored “different lines, shapes and techniques” in vibrant colors such as fluorescent green, fuchsia and orange, combined with more neutral colors such as black and blue denim.

Designer María Pía Cornejo presented her Liverta collection at the historic and emblematic Palazzina Appiani in Parco Sempione on Friday, September 22, 2023, and took advantage of her stay in Milan to schedule visits to showrooms and interviews with clients and buyers.
